Lord,
I have seen how lies, repeated and enforced,
can build invisible prisons
more enduring than concrete walls.
In this age of networks and notifications,
guard me from becoming
either jailer or captive
in systems of deceit.
Teach me the discipline of “living not by lies”
even online:
to refuse to share what I know is false,
to resist the quiet pressure
to repeat slogans I do not believe,
to let my silence speak
when speech would betray the truth.
Protect my digital traces
from regimes—large or small—
that would use them
to coerce conscience,
to punish dissent,
to turn neighbor against neighbor
with weaponized information.
Give me courage to usethese same tools—
encrypted messages,
careful sharing,
small circles of trust—
to encourage those who suffer,
to document injustice,
to keep memory alive
where it is under assault.
And when fear tempts me
to retreat into safe falsehoods,
remind me that the line
between good and evil
runs through every human heart,
including mine—
and that my stewardship of this digital life
is one place
where I may choose
which side I strengthen.
