  • It is for working professionals ONLY, whose native language is not English.
  • Their English proficiency is roughly the equivalent of IELTS 6.5 and above.
  • Typically they have been speaking English 5+ years as an adult and are still experiencing some communication issues based in part on the quality of their accent.
  • They have the potential to set aside 3~6 hours weekly for practice.
  • Weekly sessions, on Zoom or SKYPE, last 45 minutes.
  • Weekly sessions of one hour are available in the case of two students of comparable background and accent issues who wish to work together on the project.
  • Initial diagnostic interview is done without charge. The method is highly successful for most professionals. Only those with the right combination of pronunciation "aptitude" and open, available time outside of work are accepted.
  • If the applicant is selected, the basic course contract is for $1000 USD for 10 weekly sessions, with 2 one-week breaks allowed. (The course can run up to 12 weeks.)  A certificate and "before" and "after" video report is issued at successful completion.
  • Continuing consultation beyond the 10 week program is available by special arrangement.
The program is based on the haptic pronunciation teaching approach presented on this blog and in various publications, created by Professor William Acton of Trinity Western University, his colleagues in the field and students. (See the blog research reference link and Acton's CV). It has been proven effective in a wide range of situations and classrooms, and elements of the system are now used internationally by hundreds of classroom teachers and accent enhancement consultants.
  • Weekly sessions with Bill Acton, internationally recognized scholar in pronunciation and accent enhancement.
  • Individualized lessons
  • Weekly homework practice assignments (usually, 4~6, 30-minute sessions) on video and audio
  • Extensive use of haptic procedures (involving movement, gesture and touch)
  • Focus on pronunciation relevant to student's workplace.
  • Includes features of public speaking, time management and assertiveness training.
