Looking good on Zoom (Courtesy of Perplexity.AI!)
- Put soft light in front of you.
- Face a window or place a lamp near your screen so your face is brighter than the background.
- Avoid a bright window behind you, which can leave you looking shadowy.
- Raise the camera to eye level.
- Stack books under your laptop if needed.
- A straight-on or slightly elevated camera angle usually looks more natural than a camera pointing up at you from below.
- Frame yourself simply.
- Center your face and upper chest, leave a little space above your head, and choose a tidy, uncluttered background.
- Wear something that reads clearly on camera.
- Choose a neat top in a solid or uncomplicated pattern that contrasts with your background; avoid busy prints that can distract.
- Quick setup: Face a window, raise your laptop, tidy what’s behind you, and check the preview before joining.
- If the room is dim, Zoom also offers a low-light adjustment in its video settings.
Homework;
a. (Every day): Warm up (L1 and L2), training (3 days), EOR, new text (day 5). Notes (new targets and observations) and log of time spent and when!
